Peter has gained a reputation as being one of the most consistently successful PGA players in Australia. He has enjoyed a long series of national and international victories with only two occasions outside the Australian top-ten since 1991.
As an ambassador for the sport and flag bearer for the Australian tour, Peter’s support has extended to his annual hosting of the Pro-Am which raises funds for the Cancer Research Unit at the Royal Brisbane Children’s Hospital. Peter is a naturally relaxed speaker with a laconic charm.
One of Australia’s most consistently successful PGA players over the last twenty years. Since winning the South Australian Open back in 1979, Peter has plied his trade all over the world with tournament victories in Australia, Japan and Europe.
In a remarkable testament to the quality and consistency of his play he has only been outside the top-ten on the Australasian Order of Merit twice since 1991. Peter has recorded 25 tournament victories, winning four titles in Europe, three in Japan and 18 in Australia. In 1989 he enjoyed a golden period winning the Australian PGA Championship, Australian Open and Johnnie Walker Classic in the course of five weeks.
Away from tournament play, Peter enjoys spending time with his family and relaxing on his boat called ‘Broomstick’ - a legacy of Sam Torrance converting him to the broom handle model when his career was threatened by putting problems!
Peter has been a loyal supporter of the Australasian Tour and a tremendous ambassador for golf in this country. He also hosts an annual Pro-Am to raise funds for the Cancer Research Unit at the Royal Brisbane Children’s Hospital.
